The other day I was able to get to Savannah for my monthly visit to the Target. And, as I’m wont to do (after hitting the Dollar Spot!) I peruse the seasonal section. You know…for the kids. And I saw the most amazing thing. A bag of as yet undiscovered M&Ms®. My immediate thought was, Bet those are really good. Bet they’d be even better in some blondies. And right there, in the middle of the seasonal aisle during monthly visitation with the Target, Strawberry Shortcake M&Ms Blondies were born.
If the bag looks a little crumpled that’s only because we had to repeatedly open and close them. You know, just to be sure they were still as delicious as the first time. I told you the other day if you hadn’t tried White Strawberry Shortcake M&Ms then you really should!
It took me a week to put this recipe together and during that time I routinely heard, MOM! Can’t we just eat these M&Ms already?!
NO. No you cannot. It’s a whole month until I can get back to the Target and that’s the only place I could find them. {Trust me. I searched.}
So yesterday I finally baked these up and then promptly threw a sign on them: DO NOT EAT. Which in a bloggers’s house is code for: I haven’t photographed it yet.
The craziest thing about how good blondies are is how stinkin’ easy they are to make. Just one bowl. One.
So basically after you cream together the sugars and butter you just dump everything else in. I decided to use what was left of the…..ahem…..extra to sprinkle on the top. The rest I mixed in.
And while they baked up all brown and chewy they filled the house with the smell of strawberry shortcake and I knew before I even tasted them, they’d be perfection.
But then I’m slicing them up and seeing those chunks of M&Ms and I’m thinking, I don’t care how easy they were, I’m a genius!
I mean, right?!
My kids had to wait and enjoy them cool.
But I’m here to tell you, if you served them up warm with some vanilla ice cream and strawberry syrup, nobody would be mad at you. Unless of course you do it when no one else is home!

- Makes 12 generous sized bars.

i am sorry but don’t you use flour? How much?
Hi Jean! I did. 2 cups. Thanks for pointing that out. I’ve fixed it in the recipe, too. Sorry about that. I need an editor! 😉
