My client had a small wall space that needed… a little something. A bench for the small entryway. A place to put on shoes, gather backpacks. A family message center.
Building a custom bench to accommodate the small space was the beginning of this family message center.
Instead of using individual boards we used one solid board and then routered the top to give the appearance of individual boards.
We added some molding to finish off the edges.
It’s just the perfect height on the bottom to fit over the molding on their wall so that it sits flush to the wall.
And it sits perfectly on the little wall without blocking any doors or taking up too much walking space.
It’s the perfect space for little shoes…
And a few little books.
The top is stained in Kona.
The bottom is China White by Benjamin Moore.
Beautiful simplicity.
