*This post was written as part of a holiday collaboration with eBay. All opinions and must have favorites are expressly my own.
I am often asked what kinds of tools I use to do my projects so I thought it might be fun to share some gift guides with you this year. That way you’ll know exactly what’s in my tool box, what I wish was in my craft studio and we can all send our loved ones a link to this post as a little hint, hint. And on the plus side, majority of these gifts won’t break your piggy bank!
I couldn’t live without my Ryobi Airstrike battery operated brad nailer. I love it so much I even named it.
Brad and I have completed many projects together including, but not limited to, last year’s Wooden Christmas Tree Advent Calendar, my Whale Pallet Board Photo Holder, the DIY Porthole Window Cover I did for our boys’ bathroom and possibly the most popular post on my blog, Photo Transfers on Pallet Wood Photo Frames. All that plus most of the furniture revivals I’ve done since Brad and hooked up.
I still have have my heavy duty nail gun and compressor for some jobs but most of them can be knocked out with this guy without having to lug around that heavy, loud compressor. Plus, Brad is way cuter.
I don’t know how I got by without Kreg. I honestly don’t. And luckily Brad isn’t the jealous type because I also have quite a thing for Kreg. This Kreg Pocket Hole System makes quick work of building things like my West Elm Knock off Farmhouse Table and the ever popular $5 DIY Floating Shelves I recently did for our guest bath and master bedroom. If you’re joining pieces of wood together, this system is a must!
And then there’s my Lufkin Self-Centering Measuring Tape. Listen, I know most everyone already has a measuring tape but if they don’t have this one they want it, even if they don’t realize it yet. My greatest weakness is the measuring. It. Is. Just. So. Tedious. I am always just ready to get on with the fun part but that isn’t going to happen if I mess up the measuring. This one practically does all the hard mathy stuff for you!

You know, one of these days my craft room/studio will actually look like a craft room/studio and not a dumping ground. And then, maybe I’ll show it to you! Until then, here’s a list of my top Crafter Gifts – some of them I already own, some of them are on my Christmas list, too!
Say hello to my little friend. Well. Not my friend yet but I’ve sent a friend request and I’m waiting to hear back.
This is the Cricut Explore. {<—- Did you just hear Tom Hanks say, This is the Polar Express, in your head? Because I totally did.}
It’s a vinyl cutting machine but, oh so much more! I once saw someone cut leather with it to make cuff bracelets. I have been S.O.L.D. ever since. This one is definitely on my Christmas List this year!
I already have the amazing Dremel Micro and you guys have seen me use it on projects like my beautiful DIY Etched Glass Stemless Glassware and my DIY Wood Carved Monogram Lazy Susan. This guy might be little but he’s mighty and your crafter will love all of the things it can do from etch glass, carve wood and jewelry etching – just to name a few!
