Blog Conferences, Business Cards and Christmas in July

OMG! It’s Young House Love & Ana White! I die.

Every summer I tell myself: The summer will be my downtime. A little time to relax, a little time to get caught up and a little time to take a breather from….everything. It never. ever. happens.

This week as I prepare to go to the amazing Haven Conference – and I am SO excited, let me tell you! – but I am never more aware of how un-relaxed I am and how little I managed to accomplish over the summer.

For example, I am acutely aware of the fact that we have not yet finished our office even though we’ve been steadily working on it for about a month now. Knowing I can grab some fun and modern art prints from Minted.com makes me excited about finally putting those finishing touches on our office when I get back from Haven.

And then there’s the back to back birthday parties for my boys. Minecraft in August and Tractors in September. Love, love, love the inspiration boards. A great way to get ideas for parties. There’s every kind of party printable you can imagine!

I’m a DIYer by nature but it’s nice to know you don’t have to do it all, all of the time!

And let’s all face it. Christmas will essentially be here next week so we may as well get started planning for that.

As for me, Christmas will have to wait until next week because this week I’ll be trying to make up for the fact that I didn’t discover Minted.com earlier. For now, I’m headed to Haven without business cards, without media kits and without any hope of being Home Depot’s new favorite blogger.

Sigh.

Maybe next summer.
