Coral & Gray French Provincial Vanity Makeover

I have a confession. I may or may not have a very large furniture stash that could keep me busy for years to come. That would explain why this beauty, a French Provincial Desk Redo, was finished about 8 months after her sister below.

You might remember this lovely lady who went from dumpy 1970s to tall, stately and modern. If you don’t, you can find more about her, here: Vintage 1970s Dresser Becomes Modern Buffet

Not being one to want to do the same thing twice, I went in a little different direction with the sister piece. This desk and hutch was the same green as the dresser above.

We have this really beautiful color called Silver Mink in our Maison Blanche Furniture Paint line and I love it. I knew immediately when I started this piece I wanted to use that color.

After a couple of fresh coats of paint, that brassy hardware had to go! I didn’t want to completely change out the hardware but I didn’t want to keep it brass either. A coat of Rub N Buff in Silver to the rescue!

Then I wanted to add a little fun pop of color and these coral blown glass knobs were perfect.

But once they were on there I knew I had to have more coral. I decided to add the geometric coral background to the hutch. In love!

Pair it with a chair with a funky Suzani print and some fresh pops of coral and it’s enough to make you want to sit down and pay bills. For the fun of it. Almost.

I just recently purchased a piece similar to your hutch and had been trying to figure out what to do with it. Thank you for the inspiration! I absolutely LOVE what you did with it! Did you use wallpaper for the back ground?
