Getting Organized for Back To School | Free Student Planner Printable #BacktoSchool #FreePrintable #SouthernRevivals SouthernRevivals.comI’m sitting here today with all of the windows in the house wide open. In August. That’s saying something for the deep South and it can only mean one thing, Fall is in the air! My favorite time of year! The season of pumpkin everything, football and back to school. Back to school being my least favorite. I don’t like being on a rigid schedule but nevertheless I find that I do best when I have one. Being a work at home mom, with a toddler AND middle-schooler, staying organized is a must.

Getting Organized for Back To School | Free Student Planner Printable #BacktoSchool #FreePrintable #SouthernRevivals SouthernRevivals.comLast year my oldest was provided with a student planner which we loved and used and very much needed. This year in the 6th grade apparently they decided they were no longer a necessity. Obviously whoever made that decision does not have boys! Or students. So I decided to make my own. {See below for the FREE printable student planner that I designed}

I headed over to our Office Max and had them print out the planner. Front and back on card stock. They will also punch the holes for you. We use Office Max for all of our printing needs and just recently had them print the poster for our Rock N Roll Birthday Party. I also picked up some supplies to help keep us organized like these Sharpie pens. They are great for this kind of thing because they don’t bleed through your paper.

I added a Weekly Goals / Reminders section and left another section blank so he can fill that in as needed.

And he {hopefully} won’t reply, I don’t know. You know what I’m saying?

I’m thinking of making one for his Daddy.

Then of course I have to keep myself straight. I told you how I do our weekly meal planning but until now I haven’t had a good plan for keeping track of it visually. Am I the only person who dreads the question, What’s for dinner? Mostly because it’s usually followed by, I don’t like that. For some reason having the meals planned in advanced and posted on our pantry door cuts down on a lot of that. It’s like magic. Neon Expo Window Markers magic.

And because I get to have that dreaded dinner conversation less, I feel a lot more loving which leads to magic Neon Expo marker messages on the mirror in the mornings.

And then frankly I just found myself curious about the Mr. Sketch scented markers. Remember those? That, and back to school can mean a lot of pressure on a kid and what better way to help alleviate that than to buy them markers scented with blueberry farts? According to their commercial that’s how they get their scent. I don’t argue. It makes for great fun for boys. Who are crude by nature.

I’ve gotta tell ya, some days I barely feel old enough to be far out of middle school myself. I find being the parent of a new middle-schooler very intimidating. How do you stay organized for back to school? Or better yet, how do you deal with broken hearts when middle school dances come around?! I’m. Not. Ready.

Right now Office Max or Office Depot are great places to get your back to school supplies.
