Maybe you know how it is. Try as you might to get ahead for the holidays but something always happens that gets you behind. I decided on Nov 1 that I was decking the halls the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving. I know that’s quite a controversial topic but in my business, that’s late. Not to mention I always feel rushed during the Christmas season and I’d really just rather skip that whole feeling all together if you know what I mean.
I had grand plans. Day to trip to North Carolina to cut our fresh tree. Downtown holiday parade and everything ready for Christmas by Dec 1st.
Ahem.
Didn’t happen.
So now I’m just taking my sweet time, decking the halls at my own pace and just trying to live in the moment and enjoy myself. For me, this is miraculous. But it’s also quite enjoyable and I’ve resigned myself to try it more often. Like the other day when I was rummaging through my studio for something else entirely and came across these golden polka dot paper straws I’d picked up somewhere. They just happened to be in close proximity to these golden jingle bells I’d gotten last year from the dollar store but never used.
An idea struck me. The two looked so good together in all of their golden glory, how could I incorporate them?
I snipped the straws into three equal parts and alternated each section with a bell.
I just loved how simple it was. How adorable it was and how quick it was to complete.
Now my only dilemma is where to put it.
I guess we’ll you’ll have to wait for my home tour coming up next weekend to find out. Where would you put it?
