Updated Light Fixture from the Garden Department

Brass has it’s place and some people pull it off really well in their homes. But it always feels dated in mine.

I wanted something more modern for my foyer. Something with a bit of an industrial feel. I thought it might go well with my DIY shim mirror and my redone dresser, a.k.a. Lego holder.

I won’t lie. It took some puzzle work and there were times when I thought, ‘this requires more spacial ability than I have’, but I finally got it!

I reworked the fixture to accomodate two metal baskets (sans coco liner) from the garden department. Repainted an oil rubbed bronze and, voila!, a $15 update!

And the pattern on the ceiling when it’s on is just an added bonus!

We have those exact lights in our kitchen and office! We HATE them! This is such a great idea!

That looks amazing!! Can I ask how you reworked the fixture for the baskets to stay connected to the light? I have very similar pendant lights, and they are so fugly! I love what you did, and I can’t believe that only cost you $15!! Amazing.

Actually the baskets are just sitting on the section of the fixture that used to hold the glass. Every fixture is different. It took some trial and error before I was able to figure out how to work it. Thank you!
