There comes a time in every DIYer’s life when they realize that even the small projects make a really big difference. I’m constantly working on things like whole room makeovers and neglecting the small, yet equally important, things that really and truly must get done.
So it happened one day as I was headed out of the door just after the holiday rush was over except I was still rushing. I looked down at this sad bit of cardboard that I’d stuck by the door out of desperation during some nasty weather we’d had. All of the animals came to my aid, trying to figure out exactly what I was seeing as I sat here.
‘You see anything out there?’
‘Nope. Not a thing.’
‘Well, what’s she looking at then?’
But you see it, don’t you? All of that dirt and sand that I swear I was sweeping and vacuuming like 12 times a day.
And then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Why can I redo a whole room and not tackle something as simple as wrangling my family’s dirty shoes?
So about $20 later and armed with nail gun I finally tackled this long overdue project. And not counting drying time it only took me 10 minutes which had me wondering why I hadn’t done it sooner.
